The airport in the American city of Portland has its own small cinema - the Hollywood Theater. Despite the name, you won't see big productions there, but independent short films and documentaries. Admission is free and, as a non-profit establishment, the cinema is open to submissions of film productions to be shown on their screen. Another American city - Detroit - offers travellers moving between terminals a real spectacle of light and sound. The tunnel is lined with glass moulded in topographical patterns and illuminated with LED lights that, somewhat psychedelically, shimmer and flow along the walls to the accompaniment of atmospheric music.

There are airports that offer the opportunity to visit museums located on their premises. One of them is the airport in Istanbul, where for 10 euros you can visit a huge, modern exhibition on the centuries of Turkish culture. The airport in Athens invites you on a free journey all the way back to the Neolithic period. There are almost 2,000 exhibits in the Athens museum, all excavated during the construction of the airport (!). Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, in collaboration with the esteemed Rijksmuseum, has created the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam Schiphol - a free museum and gallery through which passengers can learn about Dutch art and culture. The museum features a permanent exhibition of Dutch masters, as well as an ever-changing temporary exhibition.

When talking about the attractions offered by airports, it is impossible not to mention the one considered the world's greatest - Chiangi in Singapore. It is a sprawling complex, filled with fabulously arranged entertainment and relaxation spaces. The entire airport is green and blooming with rich tropical vegetation. There were also waterfalls, a butterfly park, a dragonfly garden, a field of sunflowers or a desert terrace full of cacti. Children
and adults can have fun on the trampolines, in the rope park and sliding down the four-storey high slide. Nature and entertainment are seamlessly intertwined with modern art; the airport is filled with installations by well-known artists, illuminations and multimedia shows. Those wishing to relax have sleep areas, spas, swimming pools, cinemas and outdoor gardens at their disposal.
